Sleeping like a pancakeWhen we got home from work last night, the power was out in our house.  Someone apparently cut a line somewhere and it took our power company 7+ hours to fix it!  Fortunately, Laura is not really picky about warm versus cold food.  So, for dinner she ate cold chicken and half a bagel.  When it came to bath time, we ended up having to give her a bath in our upstairs bathroom because there is a window in there.  She was VERY confused by that.  She enjoyed it a lot, but was very confused.  She couldn't figure out why the lights were off and then why she was in our bathtub.  She did think the jets for our jetted tub were pretty cool.  She also decided to play with Mommy's shampoo and conditioner bottles.

I was concerned about her going to sleep because we always play music for her.  She has a CD of lullabies that was given to us by our church.  We play it every night.  When I laid her down in her crib, she was ready for sleep though!  Andy and I said her nighttime prayer, kissed her good night, and off to sleep she went.  Of course, she is a great sleeper.  Fortunately, sleep problems are something we have never had with Laura.

Look at me!This week Laura will be eleven months old.  It is very much hard to believe how much she has changed!  She is crawling all over the place and pulling herself up.  This past weekend she even started cruising a bit.  She has become a different kid now that she can move quickly to something she wants.  You can tell that she loves crawling and moving because she laughs all the time now.  It is really a lot of fun to watch.  Andy and I are enjoying every minute we can because it won't be long before she's telling us how things will be!

Also, Laura has a mind of her own!  I'm not sure where she gets that from. Wink  OK, so maybe she gets a *little* of that from me.  She decided this past weekend that she no longer wants to be fed.  She wants to feed herself.  So, I'm off to the grocery store to pick up a bunch of finger foods today.  At daycare, she eats a lot of different foods so that should give me a good variety of options for her.  One of her favorite foods though is hot dogs.  I think the kid would eat an entire package if you let her!

This week we are getting Laura a front facing car seat from Target or ordering one online.  We picked one out, but we don't know if the local Target carries it.  She is very much ready to face forward because she likes to look around and see everything.  In the infant carrier, she just can't see anything except sky.  She has pretty much outgrown her infant carrier, which is amazing to see because I very much remember bringing her home from the hospital and how little she was in it!
