Hon. Ernest Solomon Fuller, son of Hon. Charles Solomon and Minnie J.(Champlin) Fuller, was b orn in Somers, September 1, 1879, and died thereat his home on Mountain Road, July 31, 1946 . His early education wasreceived at the local public schools, after which he entered MonsonA cademy, Monson, Massachusetts, from which he was graduated in 1897. Helater became a truste e of this institution. For a period of about twoyears he attended Wesleyan University. In 192 2 he succeeded his father asprobate judge for Somers, the latter in turn having succeeded the grandfather of Ernest Solomon Fuller. For twenty years he served as atrustee of the Meriden ( Connecticut) School for Boys, and for about fortyyears was a member of the Somers Board of Ed ucation, most of the timeserving as chairman. He was a trustee of the Stafford Springs Saving sBank, a trustee and member of the board of directors of the Somers PublicLibrary, a member o f the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and duringWorld War I, a member of the Tolland Count y Selective Service Board,No.35. Few men of Somers were more cooperative in the promotion o f thebest interests of the community, a concern in which he was joinedwholeheartedly by his w ife. Judge and Mrs. Fuller presented to the townthe lovely Kibbe-Fuller Grammar School and th e recreation hall devoted totown purposes. Judge Fuller traveled extensively in the United St ates andEurope, and as a recreation, enjoyed photography, especially the takingof motion pict ures. He and Mrs. Fuller spent many winters in Florida. Hisclub memberships included the Spri ngfield Rotary Club. He was a member ofthe Congregational Church, and chairman of its Prudent ial Committee.
